OUR COMPANY
WHO ARE WE?
We are Spots 'n' Stripes Theatre Company. Our team made up of highly trained theatre for young audiences professionals, all with a passion for promoting a hopeful, empowering future. Each member of our team specialises in a particular area of theatre, including costume design and construction, sales and marketing, original scriptwriting, choreography, and communications.
HOW DID WE COME UP WITH OUR NAME?
We came up with our name because we focus on embracing individuality. We think its so important to unite with one another regardless of our backgrounds. It's all about how we act with one another and our company and the shows that we produce are based on acceptance, embracing uniqueness and working together to create a better future.
WHAT DO WE CREATE?
We create productions and workshops which travel to schools, communities and theatres throughout Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. Our work is environmentally considerate, accessible to children in underprivileged communities and we pride ourselves on offering our services to schools and communities at highly subsidised rates.
WHO DO WE MAKE WORK FOR?
We create work for children in Primary School Education (ages 4-11) and each production that we create specifies what age we had in mind when creating the show. Our work is created to help children grow into empathetic grown-ups. Our work is aimed to take children on an exciting adventure of mystery and magic whilst also learning about who they are, what they want to achieve and how they can work better together. We write, create and perform adventures that will unlock every child's imagination, spark their creativity and support their journey to adulthood.
WHERE ARE WE BASED?
We create original performances and workshops for young audiences based in Lincoln, Lincolnshire and tour throughout the East Midlands.
WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?
We are extremely passionate about bringing the arts to children all across the UK. We believe that the arts has the power to help children develop, grow and unlock potential. Our stories centre on spreading positivity, highlighting the importance of companionship, inner strength and adventure. Our characters can't continue the story without the help of our audiences, so the children we perform to, really are the heroes of the story. Spots ‘n’ Stripes will be able to offer children the opportunity to see theatre that will enrich and support their emotional wellbeing and inspire their creative outlook for the rest of their lives.
